Cricket Match Report, 19th Oct

The Morning was a great one, a beautiful day for cricket and both teams arriving on time. Joondalup took hold of the toss and elected to field first leaving ocean ridge to bat, something they didn’t want happening. Liam and Luke opened the batting and were looking good, after a couple of over’s they tried to push the run rate going and because of this the first wicket fell, Luke sky balling a ball and getting caught and bowled. After the next over Liam then got retired for Kieran to come in and push the run rate on, and that’s exactly what he did. Before Kieran got going though our second wicket fell, Joe H getting caught at point for 0. With Kieran and Jack in batting together a solid and wonderful partnership was formed, one not to be missed. Kieran went out blazing hitting 3 sixes and 3 fours, and then retired at 41, this sent Nezzy in to bat. Nezzy got told to go out and score run quickly, he got off good with 5 runs off his first 5 balls, but then slowly dried up going 12 balls without a run. Whilst this is happening Jack is pushing along getting singles doubles and quadruples. The last over came in and it started with Jack sky balling one and getting a single, Nezzy then gets bowled a beamer and misses the pool shot and gets hit on rib by a fast ball, but he’s ok. Next couple of balls Nezzy is on strike and just can’t seem to put one away, so he glances and gives Jack the strike for the last two balls, Jack scoring one of them two.
Finished Score 2/122
Kieran L -- 41* Jack F – 39*
Nick N (Nezzy) – 15*
With Ocean Ridge now having a bowl Jack and Luke Opened the bowling, Jack had a great first over until he was out done by Luke. Luke bowling opening batsmen middle stump. Great effort. Things were looking good for Ocean Ridge after that. Nezzy nearly had the other opener out caught but unfortunately the ball was dropped on point. Ocean Ridge Cruising along until they relised that the second wicket would fall the over before drinks break with Jack getting a ball right down his throat on the last ball of the over after a great bowl by James. After Drinks Kieran L was to catch a sky ball off drews balling to leave them 3/48. Kieran comes into ball and Nezzy stands right up to the stumps with the gloves, great decision with the pressure on the batsman the batsman is clean bowled middle stump. The same is then done the next over with Nezzy standing up to the stumps and Joe B clean bowls another batsman. Last two balls of the game, Joondalup needed Seven, James Bowling, First ball is a four, hit beautifully by the batter, LAST BALL, Joondalup needing just 3, James Bowling throws up a great ball to any other batsman but this one, The batter charges it and hits a 6 down the ground.
